Philosophy

TEAM building and cooperative learning assists the kids as they mentor one another and give of themselves in service to others, from an early age.

T eamwork through biblical teaching and example
E quipping through hands on Bible learning and scripture exploration
A ccepting each child where they are and loving them to God
M entoring and ministering to each child through encouragement, direction and discovery of gifts and talents.

The programs at WCC are designed to support the family in their goal as spiritual leaders of their children. The staff and volunteer workers are all dedicated to support and nurture, but never take the place of the primary spiritual directors in any child's life, their parents. Each Sunday school teacher is equipped with the tools and to help the children learn through relational, experiential, applicable and learner-based lessons. Our goal is to encourage them to discover their life purpose and find joy and excitement in being the individual God had created them to be. Our Sunday school teachers share their love for the Lord and have a special place in their heart for children.

Breakaway: 5th & 6th Graders (eXtremekidZone)
Breakaway is designed to help pre-teens deal with the confusion of these transitional years. Breakaway offers Sunday discussion and focus each week. Monthly activities, and outreach & service is offered to assist in their developmental and maturation skills. A Sunday evening discipleship class meets from 6-7 pm during the school year. There are music and drama opportunities, as well as Winter snow weekend at Forest Home, summer camp and more. It's a safe and fun "club" atmosphere for kids to feel comfortable being themselves, bringing their friends, and drawing closer to Christ.

KidZone & FunZone: 2 years - 4th Grade
Periodically through the year we will have a special event for this age group. We have a Valentines Party, Children's Musical to which we invite all kids from the age of Kindergarten and up. We offer an overnight camp-out with parent participation, during the older kid's summer camp experience. KidZone kids write emails to our missionaries, we plan a summer VBS and Beach BBQ's and we encourage them to attend and participate in AWANA during the school year.

Programs & Events

Our programs and events focus on encouraging family times, because we believe emphatically in the foundational teaching that comes from the family home. Our role is to enhance and encourage, not replace the training and leadership that is given to each parent by God. Our annual events usually include a Harvest Festival, a Christmas Event, the Easter Journey - An opportunity for the kids to experience the last week of Jesus' life in Jerusalem and the triumph of His Resurrection, creative opportunities, camping trips and more. We emphasize the importance of building character through service and outreach and provide opportunities for children to participate throughout the year. Why not e-mail us and request a current calendar of events? We'd love to meet you and your family!.

Newsletters and Email Contact:
We make every effort to keep the parents and family informed of all upcoming events, changes to programming and other important key factors in the ministry through monthly newsletters and weekly parent emails. Our newsletter often contains pertinent facts relevant to the life of children in today's world, and how these may affect family. Facts, figures and articles of interest are included each month along with a current calendar of events. * The current monthly parent newsletter/calendar may also be accessed by clicking HERE

AWANA: Ages 3 - 6th Grade
